PAIN NEVER DIES
Following their daughter's brutal murder, a grieving young couple escapes the city to find solace in the mountains. As they try to recover, they soon discover their new home is haunted by violent entities with tragic histories of their own.
For Dark Remains, Mark created the non-musical portion of the soundtrack, referred to as "soundscapes". Working with the music and often eminating from the surround channels, the "soundscapes" create the creepiness and sense of forboding in the film, as well as much of the jumps and scares. Mark also acted as audio engineer and sound designer.
Update: Hear Mark's music on Big Red: The Ghost of Floyd County Prison and the Behind the Scenes Featurette from the Dark Remains DVD, just released by Monarch Home Video. Over 30 of Mark's musical compositions were used to score these special DVD Extras.

CAREFUL WHO YOU KILL
When a killer chooses the wrong victim, his carefully ordered
existence disintegrates
as the worlds of the psychological and supernatural collide.
In addition to creating the disturbing score of GHOST
OF THE NEEDLE, Mark
put his technical skill to good use by serving as the audio
engineer and co-sound
designer with the director, Brian Avenet-Bradley. |

WHEN
LOVE TURNS COLD
After killing his wife in a fit of rage, a remorseful
husband soon discovers
there's no place to hide from murder.
Brian Avenet-Bradley, the director, says: "Mark’s
musical landscapes are what give
"Freez'er"
its true suspense."

ANOTHER
FILMMAKER’S APOCALYPSE
“Boring documentaries don’t sell. But show me real
people killing
each other, and trust me, it’ll sell.” Jake Kelly,
a young Los
Angeles producer, hopes to score big by capturing real-life
bloodshed
on film.
Feud is an 60-minute dark comedy short directed and co-written by
Brian Avenet-Bradley in 1992. Mark created a score using acoustic
guitar
and bass as well as homemade percussion instruments, banjo,
and various household items. This early work set the stage for Mark's
later
contributions to Avenet Images' feature films.
